Public Area Supervisor

About the role

The Public Area Supervisor ensures cleanliness and sanitation of public spaces in a Radisson hotel, leading a team to meet quality standards and guest expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all public areas.
• Support the team to achieve common goals and quality expectations.
• Communicate, motivate and ensure teamwork among staff.
• Maintain the assigned work station and service areas in an orderly manner.
• Collect daily worksheets and return keys at shift end.
• Clean public areas daily according to operational policies and standards.
• Maintain supply cart and vacuum cleaner for efficient job performance.
• Stock cleaning materials and equipment on the cart.
• Remove accumulated trash and dust all surfaces.
• Replenish promotional materials, literature and stationery.
• Vacuum public areas and report unusual circumstances to the Floor Supervisor.
• Report maintenance requests and handle replacement orders.
• Hand over lost‑and‑found items to the Floor Supervisor.
• Assist guests and other departments by removing food trays and trolleys.
• Complete full cleaning of rooms when requested by the Floor Supervisor.
• Attend to guest needs and requests courteously and efficiently.
• Assist other departments as needed to ensure optimum service.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Hospitality.
• 2‑3 years of experience in housekeeping or public‑area cleaning, preferably in a hotel.
• Previous supervisory experience is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of cleaning procedures, hygiene standards, health and safety requirements, and chemical handling.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to train, supervise and motivate staff.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
