Senior Driver

About the role

The Senior Driver will provide safe and reliable transportation for FAO staff, visitors and high‑ranking officials in Freetown, Sierra Leone. This role supports the FAO Representation’s mission to promote sustainable agriculture and food security by ensuring that all travel and logistical needs are met efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the FAO Representative, senior staff and guests to airports, meetings, hotels and other official engagements.
• Assist visitors with immigration, customs, hotel check‑in and other local formalities.
• Maintain the safety, technical soundness and comfort of assigned vehicle(s).
• Log official trips, mileage, fuel consumption and related expenditures.
• Coordinate vehicle servicing, repairs and routine maintenance.
• Support administrative staff in monitoring log books and maintenance records.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence appropriate for the vehicle class.
• Proven experience driving in Sierra Leone or similar environments.
• Ability to interact professionally with national and international visitors, including senior officials.
• Strong attention to detail for record‑keeping and vehicle maintenance.
