Fundraising Officer

About the role

The Fundraising Officer secures financial support to advance the organisation's mission by developing, implementing and managing direct income-generation strategies. The role focuses on building relationships with individual donors, writing institutional grant proposals, running fundraising campaigns and finding new revenue streams within and outside Sierra Leone.

Key responsibilities

• Research, write and submit high-quality funding proposals to foundations, corporate donors and institutional grantmakers, and maintain a database of grant deadlines and track pipeline stages.
• Develop and run campaigns for individual donor acquisition, retention and upgrades, and build relationships with existing donors through updates, impact reports and stewardship events.
• Lead online and offline fundraising initiatives such as peer-to-peer campaigns, annual appeals and digital crowdfunding.
• Work with the Programme Team to set annual revenue targets and create fundraising plans for WANEP-Sierra Leone, and monitor KPIs to track progress.
• Maintain the donor database locally and abroad, recording gifts, contact details and engagement history, and prepare regular fundraising performance reports for Senior Management.
