Senior Tourism Expert – EU‑Funded Project in Sierra Leone

About the role

AESA is looking for a Senior Tourism Expert to support an EU‑funded project in Sierra Leone. The consultant will lead a Tourism Competitiveness Assessment, focusing on how aviation charges, visa fees and travel costs affect the country’s tourism sector.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a comprehensive tourism competitiveness assessment.
• Analyse the impact of aviation charges, visa fees and travel costs on tourism demand.
• Develop scenario models to evaluate policy options and recommend cost‑effective measures.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to project stakeholders.
• Coordinate with local authorities and donor agencies to ensure alignment with project objectives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Tourism Economics, Economics, Public Policy, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in tourism competitiveness and policy analysis.
• Proven experience delivering donor‑funded technical assistance assignments.
• Strong analytical and modelling skills applied to tourism policy.
